"The painting was a present for one of our colleagues from Brussels who visits London frequently and stays at the Tower Hotel in London. When I was asked to find a suitable painting present at lunchtime on Thursday for delivery on Friday it was amazing that I happened to 'stumble' upon your website and find something that was so suitable as the painting depicts the view from the hotel room that he always used on his visits - although this was unbeknown to me at the time of speaking with you. Our colleague was thrilled with the present and we all agree that your father was a really talented man" - Sheila Allport - Fortis Bank "I met
your father years ago in your gallery at Chigwell. I have always admired his
work and have one of his prints of 'Thames barges' at home. I found your late
father a kind man, he spent over an hour of his valuable time giving me a
painting lesson, which made me feel very special. I try to paint in
watercolour and still remember his advice - 'if you really want to be an
artist you'll make it, but you've got to want it.' When things are not going
too well i always remember that and it keeps me going." - Diane, London "Best wishes
from Canada! I was delighted to see your beautiful paintings of "I am very sad that Martin has passed away especially so as my Dad has just died too and its very hard coming to terms with the loss of a parent, I guess it will take a while for me to accept. I must say that Martin's site is so inspiring and I would love to know more information about his life and how it was that he managed to paint so many paintings I am just amazed at the volume of work he has done. I would like to thank you for the opportunity of viewing Martin's wonderful site it has cheered me up on a dull day here in Scotland" - Caroline, Scotland "Just a short note to say that the picture has arrived and I am very pleased with it, it captures our many holidays there!" - Helene Jones, Dawlish "Yesterday I received the two prints of "Thatched Cottages Adare". They are beautiful. They arrived in pristine condition and one will soon hang in a place of honor in my home. The second print will go to my cousin and his family. Five years ago they lost their 18 year old daughter in a tragic automobile accident here in the States. They and their late daughter also spent time in Adare. As a memorial, my family and I had a tree planted and a plaque installed in the village park in Adare. That tree and plaque are located just beyond the last cottage in the print, so you can see the print has a special meaning for me and my family. I will enjoy it for many years to come, for the many great memories of Adare that I have accumulated over the years and the sadness of the memorial I wish never needed to exist. Thanks again. - Patrick Gerrity, Scranton PA, USA "I found your site via the internet search engine called Google. I was searching on a few different variations of the phrase London scenes watercolours - prints. Your site came up on the first or second page and is very easy to navigate and view images. Thank you." - Kathy O'Leary, London "I was so very sorry to hear the sad news of your father. He and I were on the same artistic wavelength and I enjoyed working with him." - Ray Campbell-Smith, Artist, Kent "Unfortunately I never knew Martin, but as a watercolour enthusiast I admire his work. I'm sure his memory will be kept alive by his lovely paintings." - Dan "Sir, I have just logged on to your web site for the first time in ages....moved house and went on long trip and it is a great shock to read that Martin Goode has passed away and a sad thing for the world of art. I really admire the N Ireland scenes." - John Scott, Northern Ireland "It is with great sadness we heard of the passing of you talented father. It must be comforting to you all to know that as an artist his name will live on and his work bring pleasure for many many years to come." - Angela,Justin and David Fielder at Temple Island Galleries "I recently purchased a print for a
ridiculously small sum at a bootsale - I wish that I hadn't gone on the bus, otherwise I'd have bought more!
The print is hanging in my hall and is a pleasure to see on my way to work!"
